  1. Who knows the reason but the venues I’ve attended over the years it’s always been about. As I said it might be getting more popular with the mainstream and pop up Djs
  2. Someone will have entered DC due to the Capcity release . His other releases if indeed the same person are west coast.

  9. Gutted to be told the news last night, only sat with him a week or so ago. My thoughts to all his mates and family, tragic
  10. DEAN ANDERSON presents THE SOUND OF SOUL™ 19th December 2024 8 -10pm **LIVE CHAT EVERY WEEK** Brian Goucher is back in the studio for this show for his latest offering from the school of soul music. Brian is without doubt one of the rare soul scenes forerunners in new/recent/modern soul music and still contributes to various media sources. In Brian's own words "The current obsession with the soul 45 is leaving a plethora of albums in the wilderness, so I'm going to plunder new, recent and decent albums"
  11. I heard it not somewhere not so long ago. Great record, everything you want in a northern record.

  19. Second Edition Talk of The North Second Edition.PDF
  20. Bit of free time so here is Issue 1 Talk Of The North Issue 1.PDF
  21. Well he is not Al Scott (Genuine) as some lazily assumed. Oh Al and Allan, must be the same guy
  22. Just checked yes he cowrote it but with Dena so I stand corrected.
  23. I doubt Dena Barnes had any royalties coming her way unless she was one of the writers which if memory serves she wasn't, same for the majority of the artists concerned. I've been in touch with a faire few artists who were unaware of their popularity, they are now though and that is enough for most.
  24. Tom Mercer I think.
  25. You’ve been going since 1974 and it seems you still don’t get it? Commercialisation, the trivialisation and imitation has always been frowned upon. I know loads under 60, I’ve nearly 2 years to go before I hit 60, they’ve all embraced the scene for what it is, all the records were new ay one time and never did anyone feel it had to evolve. The youngsters seem to be doing a good job at several clubs without resorting to tribute acts etc. the tribute acts are aimed at a completely different audience, the kind of people I went to nighters to get away from. And if you think royalties are getting paid 100% then you need to give your head a wobble.
